Tonics should turn you into monsters / animals not humans, we are already humans and turning in to a different one is not special.

I think the problem with most of the hero tonics is that they only have the "starter" armor which sucks. If you could get the "upgraded" skins they would be a bit more popular.

^ Makes me wonder why the hero tonics weren't like the margo, destroyer, etc. tonics i.e. each use disguises the player as said hero in 1 of their available hero outfits.

I received the same EL Norgu just yesterday for my b-day. Extremely disappointed - I couldn't even give it away to my guildies.

I really wish ANet would provide some better equality. What kind of parent gives out presents but gives one child a diamond and another a lump of coal?

You could sell tonics for a pretty penny near the start of the 6th birthday wave, but they dropped off very sharply after that -- I sold EL Melonni (yeah, Melonni ) for 75e in the first week. Now I'd probably have to give her away.
If you want to make money, you're honestly better off selling the unopened presents instead of hoping for that single-digit% chance of getting EL Kuunavang.

I'd like to see some sort of Guild Wars 2 mini - like the Shatterer!
If scaled like the other minis, the Shatterer should be at least twice our regular character's sizes.

i hope you're kidding about gold value... el margo was 800e when it came out and now almost a year later it's still well over 100e.
and I personally much prefer tonics over minis.

I don't want to play with a bunch of players in monster form in explorable areas. The tonics are usable in PvE, I'd rather they stick to "not special" NPC tonics than monster tonics if I have to play with them. Personally I liked the tonics idea, minis I largely ignore.

I like the green 6th year tonics. The only gold one I like is Shiro. The rest are a waste of space.
I do wonder what genius thought it would be cool or fun or amusing to dress characters up as ugly Heroes in their ugly armor. Maybe the same visionary has plans to make the 7th year tonics be modeled after game villains like Baubao Wavewrath and that ilk.

My characters won't start turning six until May or so, but I managed to buy a Kuunavang and Margonite earlier this year. I think they're a lot more fun than minipets, which I almost never used. And the previous tonics I didn't care for because they only worked in towns.
Maybe because it changes your character is why people are more particular about them? But I didn't think minis kept their value that well before the HOM came out. You usually had one or two popular ones each year that mostly held their value and the rest quickly became worthless. And people used to complain all the time about getting multiples of unwanted minis.
It was a nice change though, I'm a bit surprised at the lack of support for tonics given the former popularity of "minipets suck" threads before the HOM came out.
Hoping for a destroyer for one of my characters' sixth bdays. Or GW2, that would be even better.
